Chakra balancing with Vanessa Garbellini

In this workshop we will explore the spine & chakra system, understanding the qualities that each chakra holds when in balance and how it affects our daily lives.

Knowing those qualities, allows us to take action when we feel that one energy centre (chakra) is out of balance.The chakra system connects the subtle body to the physical.

The way of creating a subtle and physical body coherence can be done by visualisation, breathing techniques, chanting mantra, manipulating energy with the power of awareness, intention & breath.

As we become more aware of the subtle body we become responsible for our thoughts and intentions.

Vanessa has been exploring the chakras by studying energy healing techniques as Reiki and ancient tantric yogic system. She has been helping many others to feel more grounded, energise and empowered by offering private reiki sessions, deeply introspective/explorative yin yoga sessions and healing circles.

In this workshop we will explore yin yoga poses, meditation, visualisation, breathing techniques, mantra chanting, with the intention of harmonising and activating the chakra system. All of us have the birth right to thrive, not only survive.

This offering is also a great opportunity to restore and regulate the nervous system health.

Meet Alex: Alex has a profound interest in the biomechanics of the body and the dynamic flow of energy within. During her studies in Nutritional Therapy, she felt a strong calling to deepen her practice in India. There, she studied yoga under the esteemed Yogarishi Vishvaketu at Anand Prakash Ashram in Rishikesh. This transformative experience inspired Alex to integrate holistic yoga and meditation into her life and pursue it as a career.

Her unquenchable curiosity about the human body led her to further studies in various yoga styles, as well as Mat and Reformer Pilates with Polestar Pilates International. Additionally, she explored Zen meditation under the guidance of Mark Togni on the Gold Coast.

As Alex continues to expand her knowledge, her passion for guiding others to trust their intuition and evolve into their best selves grows daily. .

Alex also plays a key role in facilitating Ritual’s Yoga Teacher Training courses, sharing her deep knowledge of biomechanics, yoga, and meditation to inspire the next generation of instructors.

Join Carol for an afternoon of deep stillness, gentle awareness, and intentional rest - this Yin and Sound workshop is an invitation to soften the body, quiet the mind, and support the nervous system in returning to balance.

During this 90-minute experience you’ll be guided into restorative Yin postures allowing the body to gradually release tension and the nervous system to settle. Each posture will be fully supported with props to encourage effortless relaxation and a sense of being held.

Pranayama practices will be woven throughout the experience to consciously invite activation of the Parasympathetic Nervous System—our innate capacity for rest, digestion, and restoration. As the breath deepens and slows, space is created for the body and mind to return to their natural state of ease.

The breath is the bridge between the mind and the body. Through pranayama, we learn to quiet the restless mind and calm the inner waves. In this 90-minute practice, we’ll explore the sacred art of channeling prana — the subtle life force — through conscious breathing. In silence, the breath becomes the pathway to deeper awareness.

9:00AM - 10.30AM – Asana

This asana practice is not about achieving perfect postures, but about creating inner space — space for awareness, presence, and stillness. Through movement, we learn to inhabit the body fully and align the physical with the mental, discovering the silence that exists within each posture.

Break (30 mins) – Tea and Fruit

11:00 AM – Silent Meditation

Meditation is the art of awareness without interference. In silence, we come to know the true nature of the mind. During this seated practice, we’ll observe thoughts, emotions, and sensations without attachment or judgment. This is not an act of control, but of gentle observation — where the boundaries between the observer and the observed begin to dissolve.

In both Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine, spring symbolizes renewal, growth, and the awakening of life force energy. In Ayurveda, this season is associated with cleansing and balancing the Kapha dosha, which tends to accumulate during winter, making it an ideal time to gently detoxify and increase circulation. Similarly, in TCM, spring represents the Liver and Gallbladder meridians—organs linked to the smooth flow of energy (Qi) and emotions—and is the perfect time to release stagnation, nourish the liver, and foster physical and mental flexibility.

This reset supports you in harmonising your body’s natural rhythms, helping cultivate vitality, clarity, and resilience as you transition into the longer, warmer days of summer. It encourages energy to flow freely through your whole system, restoring balance and ease.
