The light is changing. So are our rhythms.
We are part of nature, not separate from it — so when the season turns, something in us turns with it. Late August on the Gold Coast is that threshold: the last of the winter stillness, the first of the spring stretch.
21 days to transition into spring.
Winter was for gathering. Spring is for movement — and 21 days is exactly long enough to make the shift. Three weeks of unlimited classes to carry you from one season into the next, with $50 back in your account when you finish.

Spring at Ritual
OpeningWhy you might be craving movement, change and a fresh start.
You have probably felt it already. Something in you wants to move again. The mornings are lighter, the long winter holds have started to feel like enough, and there is a restlessness that has nothing to do with your calendar. That is not you being flaky — it is the season doing what it does.
Traditional Chinese Medicine sees you as part of nature rather than separate from it, which means the turn of a season is understood to move through your body, your energy and your mood as surely as it moves through the garden. Here is what it says about the one you are standing in.
Spring is the Wood element
Growth, expansion, flexibility, forward movement. Think of a plant pushing up through soil that has been hard all winter. That is the energy you are working with now.
Liver & Gallbladder are the organs of Spring
The Liver is traditionally understood to keep Qi — your vital energy — flowing smoothly. The Gallbladder is associated with direction and decision-making. Between them: the ability to move, and the ability to choose where.
Winter was yin. Spring turns toward yang
Winter is the most inward, quiet, restorative season. Spring begins the shift to warmer, lighter, more active and outward-facing — which is exactly why this is the moment to gradually add walking, flowing movement, stretching and more dynamic practice.
Feeling stuck is a Spring thing
When Liver Qi isn’t flowing freely, TCM associates it with stagnation — irritability, frustration, tension, that sense of being jammed. Movement is the simplest way it offers to get Qi circulating again.
Wood governs vision and direction too
It isn’t only about physical growth. Wood is associated with your ability to plan, pick a direction and move towards it. Which is why Spring, rather than the first of January, might be nature’s better invitation to reset.
- Move a little more.
- Get outside.
- Stretch what’s been tight.
- Start the thing you’ve been sitting on.
- Make some space for what’s trying to grow.
Winter was for gathering. Spring is for movement.

Mud-and-thatch cottages set into the hillside, heliconia in the garden, the Western Ghats going blue in the distance. You practise twice a day, eat what grows there, and spend the rest of the time doing very little on purpose.
Rose Baudin brings fifty years of study to this one — sixteen of them in India — alongside Rose Lamont. It is the closest thing we run to a proper retreat in the old sense of the word.

Ritual School — three doors
TrainingsThree intakes, all running before the year is out, listed in the order they begin. And it isn't only about teaching — this is a chance to study what you love and build a career out of it, or to go deeper purely for yourself. A $500 deposit holds your place and opens your classes and online content the same day; the balance isn't due until four weeks out. Tap a training to open it.
After running the Reformer pathway as a closed mentorship for our Matwork alumni, Sophie is opening the first public intake. Four in-person days across both studios, then a supported 100-hour pathway you complete at your own pace.
You'll work through the classical and contemporary Reformer repertoire — spring selection, equipment safety, class planning, cueing, modifications, progressions, contraindications and the art of teaching different bodies in one room.
- 4 in-person days · 22–25 October, Palm Beach & Robina
- 30 Reformer classes included — start the day you enrol
- 10 hours observation · 30 hours practice teaching
- Lifetime access to the online learning portal
- Community class program — teach real classes, mentored

Ritual School recapThe future faces of Mat Pilates
Congratulations to our newest cohort, who have just completed the contact days of our 100-hour Pilates Teacher Training with Sophie Spratt. These graduates are now equipped to share the art of mat-based Pilates with confidence and skill.
Pilates has long been a cornerstone of the movement community, and at Ritual we're proud to make this practice accessible to our students every day. Our graduates will keep honing their craft in the studio — and soon you'll see these bright new faces leading community classes at both Robina and Palm Beach. Keep an eye out.
Reformation — a milestone for Ritual School
We're thrilled to celebrate the completion of contact days for our Reformer Teacher Training Mentorship. A select group of our Pilates Mat alumni seized the opportunity to deepen their expertise by mastering the Reformer.
Under lead facilitator Sophie Spratt, they spent intensive small-group sessions workshopping Reformer postures and uncovering the diverse ways this powerful tool can elevate a Pilates practice. Congratulations to our first group of Reformer Teacher Trainees — and to Sophie, whose first public intake opens 22 October.

Monthly members' eventStart the season feeling renewed.
As winter loosens its hold, we gather to prepare the body for what's next. Ninety minutes of long, supported holds designed to open the meridians associated with spring — the liver and gallbladder lines that run through the hips, inner thighs and side body — and to let the nervous system settle before the season speeds up.
Bring nothing but yourself. Props, blankets and bolsters are all provided.
Have you tried Himalayan Meditation?
Teacher highlightA free weekly community meditation
Nathalie is one of Ritual's most experienced and quietly passionate teachers, and every week she opens the room for a free community meditation infused with presence, compassion and curiosity.
This is an authentic Vedic practice, and it moves in a deliberate order:
Deeply restorative, it calms the nervous system, stabilises the mind and cultivates greater peace, clarity and inner balance. Suitable for complete beginners and experienced meditators alike.

CommunityNarelle Bishara
Just over two years ago, Narelle walked into Ritual for the first time. She has since logged more than 500 visits — which, if you do the arithmetic, is roughly four times a week, every week, for two straight years. Through winters. Through busy seasons. Through all of it.
You'll find her across both studios and across the whole timetable — she isn't loyal to a single style so much as to the practice itself. If you've been in a room with Narelle, you'll know the effect: she's the person whose consistency quietly raises the standard for everyone else on the floor.
Congratulations, Narelle — from all of us at Palm Beach and Robina.

ClaimPractice & Post — win a $200 credit.
Every time you practise with us — whether it's your first ever class or your five-hundredth, a gentle restorative hold or a full Reformer session — we'd love to hear how it felt. Share a post about your experience and you're in the draw.
Every body, every level and every kind of movement is welcome here, so there's no "right" way to take part — just show up as you are and celebrate moving your body in a way that feels nourishing.
At the end of the period we'll draw our winner, who takes home a $200 credit to spend at Ritual however they like — classes, packs, a training deposit, or something from the studio. This is about connection as much as competition: we love seeing our community share the spaces and practices that bring you joy.

EducationalThe Reformer was invented in a hospital, not a studio.
And the man who built it was interned at the time.
Joseph Pilates built the first Reformer during World War I to rehabilitate injured soldiers.
He rigged bed springs to a sliding platform, turning hospital beds into makeshift exercise machines so bed-bound patients could keep building strength. More than a century later, that same principle of spring-loaded resistance remains the cornerstone of Pilates practice worldwide — including in both of our studios.
