The word Yoga comes from the Sanskrit word 'yuj' meaning to yoke, join or unite.
According to Yogic philosophy our experience as human beings runs deeper than our physical body and includes the subtle layers of our mental, emotional and energetic expereince. Using pranayama and meditation practices we can learn to unify our physial and subtle body to experience a balanced, vibrant and above all useful life.
In this 3 hour lecture, internationally respected senior teacher Rose Baudin will guide you through the profound philosophy of the yogic subtle body and offer tools and practices for awakening, tending to and integrating the subtle body of awareness that exists within all of us.
Rose Baudin has studied and practiced yoga for 44 years and has taught for 30 years. She met her mentor, Swami Gauribala Giri, in Sri Lanka in 1971 and was initiated into the Parampara 1984. During the 16 years, she lived in India, she was instructed by master teachers in various schools of yoga: Hatha (Clive Sheridan), Iyengar (Clé Souren, Shandor Remete) Viniyoga (Gary Kraftsow) and Ashtanga (Dena Kingsburg). She has had extensive meditation experience under the guidance of S.N. Goenka (Vipassana), Zen Master Hogen-san Yamahata (Soto Sect) and Sayadaw U Janaka (Satipatthana Insight Meditation). She was introduced to and taught Ayurveda by Dr. Robert Svoboda who also instructed her how to perform the ritual of Agni Hotra in the way of his mentor, the Aghori Vimalananda.
Since 1986, Rose has been based in Australia teaching yoga classes and leading meditation retreats. She is a senior teacher of yoga philosophy, pranayama, and meditation for Yoga Arts and Creature Yoga. Rose has been conducting yoga intensives, residential retreats, and seminars internationally for the past 30 years.
